Jeff Gonzales

Elder/Pastor

Jeff is originally from San Antonio, TX. By the grace of God, Jeff came to know the Lord while attending a vacation bible school as a kid and was baptized shortly after. The summer before leaving to college, Jeff heard expository preaching for the first time, which sparked a new-found hunger for God’s word and ignited a desire to preach. Jeff graduated from Texas Tech University in 2009 with a B.S. in Geology. Jeff met Julie during his senior year in college, and the two were married in 2011 in Nebraska. A few years after getting married, the two moved to Escondido, CA so that Jeff could attend seminary. While going to seminary, Jeff served as a Youth Pastor of a local church. Jeff graduated with a Master of Divinity from Westminster Seminary California and the Institute of Reformed Baptist Studies in May 2018. In July of 2018, Jeff was called to be the Pastor of Peninsula Bible Church.
Jeff has a great passion for seeing Christ exalted and people transformed through expository preaching. Jeff loves seeing the Word of God heal and comfort people through Biblical Counseling. Jeff also has a great burden to equip young people for the Christian life and to train future church leaders.

​In his spare time, Jeff also enjoys storm chasing in the plains, writing, golfing, tennis, fishing, road biking, and snowboarding.
